Visual Update

March 16th, 2009

As you can see, there’s been some heavy visual development. New GUI, new inventory system, etc.

There’s also a test client that you can download and play the game with. Remember, there’s not a whole lot you can do.

Byte Array Packets and new Party System

March 14th, 2009

Byte array packets means that the game will be much, MUCH smoother, as well as faster. This isn’t something the players need to worry about though.

The party system is awesome. You can have up to 4 players per party. It currently displays and updates the party’s details. HP/MP, level, class and name.

If the Party Leader leaves the group, the next member in line becomes the leader.

There will also be a class change system. Here are the class changes as of now:

Fighter
-Male Change
–Swordsman (Damage Dealer)
–Knight (Tank)

-Female Change
–Warrior (Damage Dealer)
–Paladin (Tank)

========

Mystic
-Male Change
–Healsinger (Healer/Buffer)
–Sorceror (Damage Dealer)

-Female Change
–Songstress (Healer/Buffer)
–Demoness (Damage Dealer)

========

-Male Change
–Varlet (Dual Weapons)
–Bowman (Archer)

-Female Change
–Rogue (Dual Weapons)
–Ranger (Archer)

NPC Spawn System and Skill Level System

March 14th, 2009

NPCs can now be set to spawn on any specific tile, in any specific direction, and can be made to stand still or be allowed to move around.

Instead of getting stat points every level, based on your new level (odd or even), you will automatically get certain stat bonuses. The stat point you get each level can now be used to level a skill you have, assuming you meet the required level, for the new level of the skill.

I have also begun development on the newbie area, gear and skills.

Dynamic Max Map NPCs! :D

March 14th, 2009

So, after a couple hours, I finally got Dynamic Max Map NPCs working. What this means, is you can set 1 to 50 NPCs per map. This is a default sized map (11×15), with 20 npcs on it:

Screenshot:Dynamic NPCs

It doesn’t look like much, I suppose. However, this means we can have enough mobs per map on the bigger maps. Makes balancing the game easier! :D

EDIT:

Here’s a screenshot with 50 Green Slime on a default sized map:

Started again! :D

March 14th, 2009

False Prophet Online is back! This time, we’re in full force. So many things have changed. A highly optimized engine with dynamic maps! That’s right. Dynamic maps. Maps can be anywhere from 11×15 to 255×255. Yes, they scroll. :D

The fishing system in FPO is pretty fresh as well. It takes 15 seconds to fish each time and while you’re fishing, you have a progress bar that shows you, well, shows you the progress of your cast. If someone else is fishing, you’ll see a bubble above the player’s head, with a little fishy in it. :D

I’ll keep the site updated as I add more things to the game and if we start development and such.
